The smooth riding and handling of the Chrysler Pacifica has been the talk of the minivan segment in the automotive industry for some time now, with such a blissful experience behind the wheel being cherished by minivan enthusiasts alike.

We now have some explanations into just why this Chrysler model supports such a bump-free ride, and what exactly is working behind the scenes to provide these serene moments. According to a Chrysler press release, five different reinforcement rings are placed in the front and back of the vehicle, preventing an unpleasant process called “deflection”.

“These rings work together to minimize the effects of deflection caused by uneven roads”, said FCA US engineer Jeff Tibbenham.

The reinforcement rings help to avoid torsion and the rattling and squeaking that can take place on rough road surfaces, explaining why your ride always seemingly goes off without a hitch.
